Broke 33 year walking lib. drought! ster. buckle, metal crackerjack toy etc....

[history hunter]

Went out this morning early looking for a new spot by a lot of old house tear downs in an old part of town. One of the first coins found was the 1944 walking liberty half. I got a nice reading between the curb and a tree, but I figured it would be the usual trash or perhaps a new quarter. Was very excited when I saw the half size disk in the hole and said to myself, please be a walker because I have not found one since about 1978 or so. The ster. buckle was on top of the ground next to a tree, it must have been brought to the surface when the house was bull dozed. I will have to go back to these sites again most defiantly! Thanks for looking!!

Congrats on the nice finds, I especially enjoyed it because I dug my first ever Walker Half today and it too was a 44. It was a thrill to see that big silver popping out of the hole.

I'm not sure what year it's from, maybe 1920s or older. Thanks for your interest!
