i haven't been posting any finds lately, not because i haven't been getting out, but because all Ive been finding is clad. a lot of that has to do with the fact that i have been having lots of trouble finding good old sites to hunt, but thats another story. ::) i was looking for something else the other day and noticed a neighborhood park tucked away off a side street that i have never seen before. i did a little research and found that the surrounding houses were built in the late 40s, so i figured what have i got to lose. spent three hours up there this morning before the humidity drove me off, and got this 44 washington quarter and three wheat's. a 44, a 53 and a 58. hopefully there is more silver there and i am gonna hit it again tommorrow morning. i just gotta remember to get there early to avoid the heat and to bring bug spray cause the mosquito's were ferocious! ( summertime is here....oh joy :'() anyway, even if its not a super old find, it still breaks the silver slump and I'm happy about that! hopefully i will have more finds tommorrow. thanks for looking.

Sweetness! I can totally relate.

Did you have to go deep for those? Was it very trashy or easy pickens'?

Nice finds.

no, all of the coins were really shallow. three inches or shallower. the soil there seems to keep things from sinking very fast. its wierd how at some sites you find clad at 6 to 8 inches and others you find silver at 1. it was really trashy though.

Congrats on the silver and site! Good luck when you get back there, those trashy signals might be a nice gold or silver ring. HH, Mike

im not on vacation, but my luck sure has been! its been murder trying to obtain permission lately. i dont know whats up, all of a sudden no one wants to give me a shot. because of that ive been reduced to hunting the old gone over spots, and my good finds are suffering! hopefully it will turn around soon. ;)

youve prolly got skeeters the size of birds over there huh dave! here its just enough to be annoying. lots of 1700s and 1800s places in delaware. its just hard to get the go ahead to hunt them. thats ok.....ill settle fo a 40s spot for now and be happy about it. thanks for all the nice replies.
