Hi:hello:

Very windy at low tide today, but sun was bright ...beautiful day for detecting:hello2:

Hunted a trough line for entire shoreline of a beach..sinkers/ coins:icon_scratch:

After about 1 1/2 hrs. in this trough line, I decided to look over the jetty to see what the conditions were at the next beach; noticed an area about 25 yrds. in length....with pebbles / shells ; hopped over the boulders and within 15 minutes hunting this area, I got a solid medium/low tone , and recovered the Platinum ring.:icon_thumright:

This is my first Platinum ring find, and I was so happy to find it.

The ring has a gold inlay in a "swerve" pattern around the band.

Here's some pics

Thanks for looking

p.s. "merc" and "wheatie" were found at yesterday's hunt

Was it cold out? Great finds! Ray

One more down. :icon_thumleft: What's still left on the bucket list?

It was in the middle '40's.....that's not so bad except for the wind which made it seem a bit lower than that.

Only had to wear one pair of gloves..as opposed as three pairs until recently.

LOL!!!

That's a BEAUTY!!

very nice lorraine

Nice find! Hope to get one someday.

Wow! Congratulations Lorraine. I haven't done math lately but what do you think ARA will pay for that? Reason I ask is because I have a similar one found in Bahamas years back, and it is Japanese, but platinum so I am told.

Thank you, Southern Digger,

I checked it with Dendritics...seems like Platinum is almost the same price as gold at this time....but I could be wrong

It's a beaut Lorraine:
Amazing how just one finds makes such a difference.
Out of curosity, how deep were your finds: platinum ring , sinker?
What were the tones for the sinkers, were they waivery?

Yes, the sinkers have that "waivery" tone...and the tone spreads out ..unlike the tone for quarters which is the same pitch , but different in quality...the quarter tone is focused.

The platinum ring was not deep ...one scoop about 6" .

Sinkers were all deep...2 - 3 scoops full

Congrats Lorraine That's a beautiful ring

GREAT FINDS. I don't know about the "bucket list" tho, you certainly don't appear old enough at all to even have started that thing. I LOVE the setup of the photoshots. Really brings out the ring, makes it seen like such a precious mineral.

Excellent find! I haven't found a PLAT ring yet.

Thats one cool looking ring, congrads on that one !!!!
