Updated cleaned up pics!!!

I'm stunned.
The street tear outs are still producing, a few wheats here, clad dimes there...the occasional silver keeps me going...then today happened.
The AT Pro sounded off a choppy 90-91-92 ..... Wierd. It wasn't clear or consistent, but I was intrigued. The target seemed big, so the dig began.....not expecting to see a clod of dirt, perfectly flat on one side, and round....and, big? I'd seen this before, when a coin is broken from its grave, there is that pretty flat dirt to the side of the coin...but not like this.
I reached into the hole, and I felt a big, round...???
OMG...did I just find big silver? I didn't try to ID it, as I was thinking this might be my best find ever...
I stood up, scanned the hole, and the signal was still there!
Slowly I fished out, another one?!?
Another, and another!!! I was like, this can't be happening. 5 minutes later my wife calls and says dinners ready....really?
In lieu of in situ pics, I did the best I could, still not sure what I found... image.jpeg
So the clean up was pretty intense, I dropped Holy bombs in shear joy and excitement as I saw what the beauties were....
1923 and 1925 Peace Dollars!!!
1921 and, the Belle of the ball...1889-0 Morgan's!!!
:headbang::headbang::headbang:

I had never found a dollar coin...today I found 4! Crazy! Oh, and also my oldest silver!(with a date).....
Now, I gotta read up how to best clean them, if I even decide to.

Thanks for looking!:hello:

Look for utility improvements, like pipes and cables along streets and easements....the grassy strip between the street and sidewalk are where the goodies are.

How right you are, my 1st LC came from a utility dig and my only Franklin came from a street/sidewalk tear out.

My first big silver came up as a 1908 barber half along a sidewalk edge. One of my best hunts was a sidewalk strip hunt, 11 silvers, 31 wheats, 3 Indians and 2 bufs. I started the hunt early in the morn and my first dig was one of the bufs. As I was kneeling down looking at the coin 2 wheels rolled up. I looked up to see a woman police officer in her patrol car. What ya doing? We got a report that someone was digging up there yard. Just detecting for some coins, I think it's city right of way. She looked up and down the road and said, your right have a good day! When she pulled away, I stood up and did a 360 with a big smile on my face! I knew whoever had called was watching!
Congrats Dave! What a fantastic find! I know you will not forget every detail either!

Ha! Craziest thing, it's an old street with all 1920's homes, and I've hunted it dozens of times the past 6 months, as they are replacing the utilities and drainage... But the Dollar coins themselves were actually in front of a new house, built in the past couple years... I remember avoiding that area several times, due to either construction equipment, or large piles of dirt in the way.... Also, figured why waste my time in front of a new house...duh, an old house had been there before...
Literally 1 foot away from their mailbox.... 6 inches deep, sitting there since the late 20's or 30's? I'm still shocked.
