today i was asked if i could help find a property stake in a wood lot
we knew it was within a 10 foot area
i started detecting from the center working my way out wards
my first hit turned out to be a buckle it was only about 3 feet from the property stake
now i have to rty and figure out how old the buckle is and i dont have much to go on
the only markings are 3 stars

My guess is mid 1700's

Nice find Frank!!....I believe that buckle dates to the 1700's but I'm sure someone like BuckleBoy can give you a more precise date on it.

Wow.....want one of those puppies so bad I can taste it. See a few in the vids from the New England area. That is getting back there. Awesome find.:icon_thumleft:

Nice! I agree- 1700s shoe buckle.

C'mon up to Yankee Territory (the "dark side" for you ol' Johnny Rebs) and we'll hook you up! Heck, may even surprise you with our barbeque......you're welcome any time brother!! ;)

Nice buckle. Still have not found a whole one like yours.

It is definitely older than my Gr-Gr-Gr-Gr Grandfather. Congratulations.

Nice 18th Century shoe buckle. I would get back in there and see what else is in those woods. You might have stumbled onto an old homesite.

Really nice! Really hard to find intact. I have 1 with a deep green patina. CONGRATS! Hogge
