This was one of my first finds back in (2006), I did post it then, I would like to find somewhere online that I could see ones like it, and maybe find out a bit more about it.
I think it is a Horse Harness Cover Buckle from the CW era?

And it ain't CW if it was patented in 1879.

I like these little finds. One of the first things I dug after I moved this summer was a harness buckle shield.

I found one too.... exactly the same. It was found June 2010, near a cellar hole, in the Blackstone Valley National Corridor, CT.
