Monroe countyDo you know what part of So Illinois those are awesome
We hunted this site after the 93 flood waters receded and recovered a cache of 5 Mississippian flared bit celts that were laying together . This site is close to the Mississippi. The river took a drastic change of course during the New Madrid earthquake!!All are made from diabase. About the best igneous rock there is for celt making. Those are glacial rocks from Canada. Common in IL glacial till and also found on gravel bars on the Miss River.
