dug a buggy hames recently and got it all cleaned up as I do my old iron finds. Smith made with some good old material meant it would have lasted another hundred years in the ground. That was the last hole of the day and now fast forward to this weekend and out comes its twin brother....now I got more work to do. These will look good when displayed along with other old horse tack.

Very nice finds and great job with the preservation of the first one. Those will definitely display well.

I can honestly tell you that is the first buggy hames I've ever seen...I'm not sure what a hames is, but if it's buggy there might be a hames repairman who can fix it.

Not sure what part you have there but, the first one you restored looks quite nice. Another one like that would make a nice display on the wall or someplace fitting. Cool old iron.:icon_thumright:

Nice going on getting the pair, lots of ideas on how to use in a display.
We bought this piece a few yrs back. Personally I'd prefer it to have a seat warmer installed.:laughing7:
