I'm building a straight shaft and I was wondering if there is a particular "make or model or manufacturer" that I should look for as far as the handle goes? I found a pair on Ebay for a couple of bucks but, if they are made out of aluminum then I can't heat the end of the curve to be able to twist it to the correct angle ... can I ? Does it have to made out of steel?

If anybody knows where to find the correct bar for my straight shaft I would really appreciate the help.

Thanks again for any help,

Greg

You can go to a bike shop and get very nice handle for your shaft !!

Yes, but isn't the end (or tip) of the stock bicycle handle turned away from "center" .. at maybe a 30 degree angle, instead of being straight with the shaft itself, (when bolted on the straight shaft)??

OBN, Your little helper sounds adorable..... The work with the torch is pretty good too.. Blessings, Beach Papa

What exactly were you doing with the torch? I didn't see you bend it.

He heated the joint where the stem meets the clamp. And it looks like he turned it, rather than actually bending it.

Thanks for the video Joe, much obliged.

Yes, it turned instead of bending. There is a hot glue that holds them together, when heated it will give some and you just twist. I have been using this brand bar end for several years now with no problems, I now use it with all my remote PP mods. Along with the Diamondback Grip.
