✅ SOLVED Bullet ID Help Needed

Found on the farm lst weekend
It has two rings going around it . Pretty small but looks old (?)
I have found a .54 Starr Carbine bullet close to where I dug this one up so wasn't sure

7.65 bullets are approximately .30 inches in diameter

What does the base look like? I would say it’s old based on the white color of the exposed lead.

That looks to me like a .30 M-1 carbine slug. Weigh it. It should weigh 110 grs if it is.

I don't have a scale that would work on something that light

.30 caliber about 1/2 inch long suggests M1 carbine bullet, as mentioned above.

A couple points. To my eye, that’s not a copper clad bullet. That gray/brown is oxidized lead. Also that patina adds to your measurements, so bullet was likely around a .29” when dropped/shot. The bright white of the lead says “old” to me (early 1900s or before). The .30 carbine came out mid-1900s.

Long way of saying, I’m not sure what it is, but almost positive it’s 100+ yrs old and not a .30 carbine.
