bullet info help please

I have found what looks to be an old camp site. I have dug quite a number of .36 caliber lead round balls, both fired and unfired. I assume they are from a pistol, so my question is, what are the kinds and types of guns that would have used these bullets? Thank you.

They were several makers that used the .36 cal , google civil war pistol .36 cal makers, that should help you, congrats, Ac
 
The most prolific would be the ,36 cal Colt Navy. Calvary used them quite a bit and it was a very popular pistol.
