Bullets the way I like them...

Jpro · Jan 6, 2014

5F degrees when I woke this morning so waited until it warmed up to 10F to get out. Dug these bullets within the hour of hunting..thankfully, but managed to stay warm. Some really nice dropped CW lead with 2 Enfields and 3 nice three ringers..they cleaned up great.
No such thing as bad weather only bad gear.

LOL..you're smarter than me plus I don't have a fireplace. Just needed to get my CW fix in. I'll get warm when my
Girlfriend comes home from work. It's not supposed to be this cold here in the south!!!

I personally like to find my bullets a little further south of the North Pole than what our current location feels like, but that's a nice set of finds there regardless.

It just got really cold here. I have to go to work tomorrow. arrgggh

Kind of like them that way too. Congratulations.

I'd hunt 2 hours in those temps for that lead! Great finds. Supposed to be as low as -30 with wind chill in the morning, but supposed to warm up to 40 on Friday. Planning on getting out Wed, Thurs and Fri if possible. Thanks for your pics.

Now that's dedication! Congrats on the CW lead. By "CW" I mean "cold weather". :tongue3:

Just like ModernMiner said, you are dedicated! I too live in Nashville and it is way too cold for me to get out....even when I was young! You did a good job.

Thanks.... I dug that pewter C.S.A. plate down near Shellbyville, Tennessee years ago (also dug a C.S. Breckenridge style in the same camp). Just got lucky but the harder I hunt, the luckier I get!

Great dig Jpro. Your truly addicted like me, I just had to work today or I would have been out. Great finds.

Congrats on getting out in the cold and finding relics! I think I'd need a moonsuit, flame thrower and a backhoe!

You are much braver than I. I like the way Enfield bullets but have never dug one.

Here are the Enfields I've dug Coilygirl over time..

Two Enfield drops and three .58's in one hour ? I'd say that hunting spot qualifies as a " honey hole " . I'm older now , but there was a time where my glove would freeze to the entrenching tool handle and my mustache would become a frozen block of ice from a runny nose. Sure...I'd hunt an hour ! Great Finds over there !
