Hello All,

My Bounty Hunter Platinum 11" DD is arriving tomorrow. Woo Hoo!! Needless to say I'm an excited newbie to detecting and looking forward to it.

I was digging around the net and came across this looking for a reasonably priced, well built, small digging tool. Bully Tools 92505 14-Gauge Steel Tulip Spade ($16.32). The blade is 3.5" wide and 6" long with a total length of 15.75" and weight of 1.4 lbs. Will probably have to put a good edge on it but it seems like a good backpack digger.

Does anyone have any experience with this little digger?

Im not a fan of the weird 15" to 18" lengths some diggers come in. If I'm going to bend over that far, it's easier to use a hand digger. I prefer something with a longer shaft which allows me to really step into it.
