That is the only way to get an 1966 Half dollar. They only came in Special Mint Sets. Not issued to the public.

I am working on posting a pic, It definately is a 1966 SMS Kennedy half. I have a complete 1966 SMS set to compare it too. It has that polished semi-proof look to it.

I will never understand how someone could open up a proof or sms set and deposit the coins like regular currency
