Went down to SC(Charleston area) to see my Pop. Looked around in his yard a little. Managed to find several buttons, my oldest US coin to date....a 1906 V nickel, a cuff link and an old bullet(ball) looks to be maybe a .32 or .36 cal.

Any info on the button??? Found them in an area of about 3ft diameter....along with the cuff link.

Your button is what is commonly refered to as a Great Seal button. They started using this design in 1902 up to modern times. The scovill backmark is one of the more often found varieties, but there are alot of different manufacturers of these buttons.

Nice find!!
