button or gold cufflink???

Greetings all, will be going out very early tomorrow because of the oppresive heat.
gonna hunt in north west Ct. and hit the shagbark next weekend.Now this is built like an old button, but has initials on front like a cuff link,say's made in england as you can see, and came out of the ground this color,all my other old buttons made of brass or copper were dull.Found about five inches down in a rut on an abandoned road.
