button or ?

yesterday me and fisher2 got out and hit a field we have been working for the last month or so
most of the coins we have found have been lc from the early to mid 1800's all in very bad shape

this item is 1 inch round and flat


any of you button experts have any idea as to date and type of button

The top one sure has the "flavor" of a British Military Button .. Take a look at some of the buttons in this link:

The bottom one looks like a fancy civilian button.

Right .. It is a civilian button with the top holding the back marks, LONDON .. QUALITY .. something.. can't make all of it out

Looks like a one piece button similar to this backmark with the addition of LONDON.. I think we are missing some words before and after QUALITY.

Im all packed and I had a little time to relax before I head out to the swamp this morning for the weekend, so I painted in the letters. I cant figure what is missing but it looks like the last letter is "N". Someone should know this backmark.

It's an early 1800's civilian button. The backmark was probably something like Best Rich Quality Orange or something like that.
