Button up its cold! Don't forget your silver...

Hey all,

Sat. Prolab69 and I went to hunt the Old Hotels sites again. ;D Spent most the day with trash finds and some clad. :'( Near the end of the day I dug a 1917 Canadian Large Cent. :o and a little later dug a 1923 Merc. :D I also found what looks to be a military button. If anyone can I.D this for me like date, value, branch, ext. ??? With such bad pictures, I am sorry my camera is real touchy with close ups. :-\ We found some wheats too...

Here are the pictures, please enjoy. ;)
Keep @ it and HH!!

Re: Button up its cold!

Very nice finds! Can you read the button manufacturer on the back?

silvers always fun to find!

Re: Button up its cold!

Hi Mud. Your button is a pre 1941 Navy button similar to NA 114 in Alberts book. Probably world war I era. Nice find. Congrats...Lance

Sweet finds MUD. I don't know much about buttons but the merc is pretty!

Re: Button up its cold!

Thank you,

I can't see any hallmarks, backmarks or manufacturer mark on the back to much corrosion. I am happy to hear it is a military button, my first. That's cool, thanks for the link too nice find.

Keep @ it and HH!!
