1st - I noticed this was your very first post - so, Welcome Aboard Fizzle! Well, considering "New England" consists of six states - you might consider (in alphabetical order) browsing Sub-Forum: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont for information directly related whichever state you actually live in...
2nd - Nice button! I see members are already jumping in with a possible ID...
Thanks for the welcome. The site is promising. It was formerly a well traveled colonial cartpath along with collapsed stone bridge. I have permission for approximately 500 linear feet of road plus the the bridge. It has turned up a few coins, Merc and Wheat, both 40's as well as horseshoes and a lot of iron bits.
Will upload pics from the site as it progresses. It appears we are about to freeze out which is a total bummer. I am hopeful the upgrade to the Deus, from my very trusty and excellent Tesoro Silver will produce the goods.
Hopefully the site will produce some more examples. Where it was found beside a colonial roadway, and a main one at that, I expect the finds will cover a reasonably long period of time. I believe roadway was rerouted to the new path sometime before 1900.
