Well if you read my post earlier http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,316418.0.html
it has turned into the far best week ever..... I went yesterday and today and found more of the sharps ring tails a US button that has Phila W.P. on the back. Was told the William Pinchon only made this particular button in 1827. ;D I found that yesterday.
Today I went and found one more button a scovill waterbury but it was only the back. I tried to find the rest of it, cause the back had a silver sheen to it.
I was about to head in and told myself I'll dig one more bullet. I got a 38 which is a wheatie and thought mmmpph so I dug it and out pops this silver coin....
I had no clue what it was but could barely make it out a shield with a pillar on either side, and some older script letters around the outside ??? . Got home and did some research.. :o ....spanish reale... can't make out the date but who cares... 1st silver of the year.....1st spanish reale, 1st 1700's coin....man what a day. Thanks to VaYank54 for the button and bullet info...Really sorry these pics aren't anybetter but,,,, if I spent more on a camera and not a metal detector might not have found these. :laughing9: Many more days like this and I will be ruint.

nice find on the old silver!!!!!!! MR TUFF

Great finds! Love the button and congrats on the Spanish silver!

Doug

Fantastic finds! Congrats on that old silver :icon_thumleft:

Just a guess:
That Spanish coin is Carlos III (1759-1789).
It's size will determine its denomination:
1R=20mm
2R=28mm
4R=34mm
8R=40mm
Don.....

Congrats on the spanish! I like that button too. :thumbsup:

Some cool Stuff. Those buttons are coming out of the ground in nice shape. WTG :thumbsup:

Spanish Silver :o I am patiently waiting for the day when I get to pass my coil over the top of one.

Great finds, VPR

Old military and Spanish silver... now that's how you do it! :thumbsup:

Congratulations on your first spanish silver! It looks like a half reale of Charles the 3rd minted between 1773 and 1789. With better pictures I could tell you more.
Anthony

I did a little "sleuthing" and realized that it is in fact Carolus III that "graces" the front of this coin. ::)

I'm replying with my cellphone so i can't quote you all but thanks for you who has given info and thanks to the rest for reading. With that last weekend. I can mark three things off of my list to find. Spanish reale, cw (pre) buttons and bullets. Not many of any where i live. ;D
Now if anyone could tell me where I could find a large cent and a cw buckle in se oklahoma I could scratch off the top two. ;D
