This wasn't found today, more like a year ago. I'm new to the forum so i decided to post some of my finds that happened previous to joining. I found all of these coins in my own yard amongst broken glass which I'm assuming was a jar they were buried in. It was approximately 2 feet away from the corner of my house. I think i found it on accident or pure luck. I had a solid dime signal so i pinpointed and dug the plug. I ended up making the plug a bit deeper than needed and the target was in the middle of the plug. After digging it out, it ended up being a clad dime. I stuck my pro pointer down in the hole and it was giving me a slight signal so i decided to dig hoping the dime had a friend. It ended up having 44 friends ! I couldn't believe it and i wish i would have gotten pics or live video. I called my roommate, who was in the house, to tell him i found someones buried money. He obviously ran outside to see what was going on. So in my opinion if it wasn't for that clad dime being dropped right on top of it and me digging too deep of a plug, i probably wouldn't have found this cache with my fisher f2. I hope i get lucky like this again in the future, though i doubt it. Here is a pic of all the coins together on my porch just minutes after unearthing them and a quick rinse with water. The lucky clad dime is at the far left. Oh and by the way, this was my first detected silver! 2012-05-08_19-58-38_595.webp

Great score ! What are the latest dates (curious as to when the stash was buried )

The latest date is 1928, so im guessing it was buried late 20's early 30's

Thanks again everyone. I just ordered a new detector yesterday. Im going from the fisher f2 to a Minelab explorer se pro. Its going to be a big learning curve on a completely different type of machine. I hope it finds me many more old coins and hopefully more buried money! Ive pounded this yard hard over the past year and have pulled alot more than just the cache, tons of wheats, 26 indians, 1 large cent, 3 v nickels, 1 buffalo, 3 barber dimes, 2 mercs, and 1 silver washington. One old chinese coin that i havent been able to idetify and a bank of lower canada half penny thats toasted. also alot of other relics like buttons, buckles, a 3 ringer, crotal bells....
Im hoping there is even more hiding deeper that i can get with the new machine since im lucky to get a dime a 3-4 inches with my current machine.

very nice find man congrats HH

Awesome hunt! I've always dreamed of finding a cache of older coins like that!

You know 'G',
I would have a very hard time choosing between mding, fishing & hunting! TEN Walleyes! I am soooooooooo Jealous, you lucky stiff! Just keep having fun at whatever you choose to do as they are all superb hobbies!.................63 bkpkr

Why did you put the trout back?

I fished in Michigan: pike, perch, pan fish, catfish/bullheads and in California now for Trout though the trout takes a second best place to prospecting however I truly love to fish and miss is! I found a box canyon up in the mountains with a 200' waterfall at the box end. At the bottom of the falls and below it are a series of pools and falls. In each pool are native rainbow trout with a high percentage of them 18" to 24" long. An amazing sight to lower myself into the pools with my goggles on and see all those beautiful fish staring back at me.

180_8078.webp Pools that Need to be fished, I would have to go over the edge by rope to fish.

180_8054.webp 500' waterfall and spooky country to be in, very rugged/wild place!

Thanks again. I release most of my fish. I enjoy the sport of it more than anything i guess. I usually do keep a few trout every year for my smoker. That one was just one of the ones i ended up releasing. The walleye on the other hand i keep my limit. They are one of the best tasting fish in my opinion. That place with the falls looks amazing. Sure looks like it would be a lot of work to be able to fish it though.

Awesome cache you found. That has to be awesome. I too use an Explorer SE...I'm sure you'll love it.

Walleye and perch are my favorite fish to eat from Michigan waters.

I can't wait to use the explorer when it gets here. Perch are also one of my favorite. You just have to catch a lot more of them than walleye for a good meal.
