There's an apple tree on our land so I figured what the heck its worth a shot. I got a good signal pretty quick but it was very low and sounded a lot like some of the foil I found closer to the road. Being a first day dirt fisher I decided to dig it anyway . I stepped on my small folding shovel and about 4 inches into the dirt I felt a crunch like a glass bottle breaking. Well if it was glass I should dig it up I found some cool bottles earlier and now its broken.
I make a square and pull out the clump, to my surprise a half broken mason jar came out with it.
In the hole among the bits of glass I saw roundness and there was quite a few of them.

HOLY SMOKES!!!! IS THIS A CACHE? I reach my hand down and pull out a handful of change and bits of glass. !@@$@#!@!##@!!#@$$@!@#!@$ yep I lost it right there in the yard. metal detecting is an awesome hobby and i'm hooked. I plan on a definite upgrade from the bounty hunter gold digger as soon as finances allow.

The nickels the star thing the big coin and the indian came out together

the rest was found throughout the yard

Oh man that's awesome, congrats!!!

Congrats buddy, most of us will go a lifetime without finding a cache. Very cool and congrats.

The big copper coin, next to the star tax token is a British Penny.

Cool cache probably buried by a kid in the later 1930's or 40's.Neat!

Wow! Excellent decision to hunt that old apple tree. Congrats!
