I found this in the belongings that were left by my uncle before he passed away. I know he and my aunt were always involved in Vegas, and for a time, casinos in Louisiana. I have looked this up and have found absolutely NOTHING as to what it is from. I know, at least I think I do, that they Caesars resorts "merged" in 1987, so I'm wondering if this is just some commemorative coin of some sort.
The front says "The Empire" at the top, with a profile of Caesar between two columns, and "Caesars" on a ribbon at the bottom.
The back Says MCMLXXXVII across the top, with POCONOS, LAKE TAHOE, LAS VEGAS, ATLANTIC CITY written around the outside wrapping around from top to bottom.
the inside has a wreath and what looks like a woman feeding Caesar grapes on a chair. Below the wreath is stamped 094. I'm guessing it is #94, but out of how many, I do not know.
Actually not sure if it's gold or just gold plated.
it is 1 3/8" in diameter, and 1/8" thick. Whatever it is, is in exquisite condition, since it's only even been in this case (I'm guessing). I haven't even removed it to touch it.
If anyone can give me any help with this, I would appreciate it, I've been looking for years and have come up short. Just wondering what the history to it my be and any possible value.
Thank you all in advance!!
