Whenever these floods and landslides happen, I always expect to hear of newly uncovered gold findings.
So much dirt and rock is moved, how can gold not be revealed ?
Whenever I hear about multi million $ homes getting wiped out by mudslides, I think of Indians Jones and the Last Crusade: “you chose poorly.” Not that I don’t have sympathy for the loss.

I’m talking about along creeks and valleys
So much water moving so much dirt

I believe new gold could only be exposed and redistributed as it always has during every major floods throughout time. Have any areas become so wash out to expose any new bedrock that was previously covered?. I've seen that happen here in Colorado in places during the big floods in 2013, but most of the creeks where it happened were never all that know as places of historic placer finds. But, I haven't looked, so I guess I really wouldn't know unless I do. Gotta still be some big gold nuggets there in California you would think, just waiting to make the news 🤔

I think that was found in Australia. Someone posted it on LinkedIn. There was a metal detector-gold panning shop in Aztec, New Mexico I would stop and visit years back and the guy who ran it would close in the winter and go nugget detecting in Australia every year. He had some nice pieces of gold to boast about and show, but nothing such as this.

I live in the central valley of California and I hate to say I can't wait for the waters to recede so I can hit up the rivers. With all the fires we had if any gold was being held in the roots of trees or bushes that burned down or just any gold that was on hillsides can now be released to get under my coil. I do feel sorry for the devastation that people are enduring. But I am giddy with excitement waiting for some trekking and prospecting. I think I'll hit the Merced river first.

It is true that floods and landslides can sometimes reveal gold deposits that were previously hidden or difficult to access. However, it is significant to note that not all areas where floods or landslides occur have large gold deposits. Not all regions where floods or landslides occur have large deposits of gold. Such natural things frighten me, so I made the decision to move to another state using moving service to make it in one day. Of course, gold is good, but for me, it's more important to have peace of mind without too much anxiety and worry.

Keep us updated!

I don’t know about gold but, after the big flood of 1994 here in SW Georgia there were native American points all over the place. Good luck and be safe out there.
