California TN weekend!

I propose a California panning weekend (or week) for all the wonderful folks of Treasure Net to get together. I suck at organizing so someone has to step up. I'll bring the beer. 4 kegs enough? Suggestions please!

That can be good thing as the Scots were pretty good miners. In fact, Downieville was named after Major Willaim Downie, a Scot who spent time mining the North Fork of the Yuba.

My GGGGrandfather was born in NY in 1800 1st generation Scottish American. Made it to Bear River 1849, Downieville in 1850. 1851 Made 7.5 lbs in one day 25 lbs of AU by the end of the month. Lived well until 1898.

Not only is that some really cool family history involving gold, but to find 7.5 lbs of gold in one day at age 51 back then is awesome. And he lived to be 98. You got some good genes there Mojo. Now get more gold. You have some VERY big shoes to fill. :laughing7:

Well, in checking the vast coverage that T-Mobile has (sarcasm riddled), I might not have cell coverage one we get to the site. That being said, anyone who wants to camp on our spot, just go to the front office and check into the spot under Michael Saxe. You'll get your POV placard etc at that time..

Aufisher- one of you is going to be counted as the third person on our site so make sure you tell em that when you get there.

Once Bill checks in, I would assume people could call him to find the exact site number!!

Looking forward to getting some good digging in and having a great time! Might be bringing up a number of ribeyes also.. mmmmm.....

Well, was just at the store and may have come across 4 rib eyes and 2 t-bones that magically made their way into my cart, also got some eggs bacon and sausage for the morning... Not sure what people were doing for food but wanted to toss out what I was bringing in case people want to adjust etc...

Ohh, and of course have some hotdogs and the s'mores makins....

Alewis- lookin like I'm gonna get there around 10-11... So if you arrive earlier, get a site in the "r" section and we'll probably end up at least in walking distance...

Gonna be at the summit by 9:30 to meet up with TerryC and Goldenmojo. Bill and John are gonna be at the claim already. Maybe we should meet at the campground around Eleven or twelve then head to the claim from the campground. Being able to follow me over will be easiest.
