I think it might be silver, pewter would flake and steel rust. Also looks like a quaker couple with the lady having a cross around her neck. Found in Greensboro NC. Random patch of woods. 20191128_145804.webp bu20191128_145804.webp

A pic of the back side will help, any makers mark?

Cool find. I agree that it looks like silver. Don't have an id though.

Show the back please - Very neat piece ! The style of the detail work around the frame, and of the couple, has me thinking it's after 1900 . Nice find !

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Very nice piece, and I agree with the others. A pic of the back would be nice, and helpful.

What detector do you use and what was the VDI on it. Nice find by the way

The Max would hit it upper 80s low 90s ish

The characters on the piece appear to be Quakers, if that is of any intrest.

Did he run away? 3 days and we still havent seen the back lol

Hey Larry ! We're trying to help you out here ..communication is a two way street !

^^^ Me too !!!!!!

Not Quakers. Maybe Dutch.

The art looks like something from one of the old masters - like Vermeer or Rembrandt or Hals. I looked for a while but didn't find a match.

I'm guessing the back will show where a pin was attached making this item a Victorian Renaissance fashion brooch.

Looks like a souvenir piece from Plimouth.
