Hello. Not sure how old it is, not sure what kind of metal the band is made out of. Does anyone know how old it might be? It looks modern and cheap. The band has a broken spot, and the metal is kind of rust colored on the inside.

Probably just a cheep kids ring, if it's rusty then that's your first sigh its not going to be a precious metal. Silver should say "925" in the band and gold should say "10k, 14k, 18k".... Better luck on the next one!

No restraints here. Is it marked at all, if not its most likely junk. How much does it weigh? Is it heavy for its size? Gold weights like lead, supper dense metal If not I'd say the Ih's are your best find.

Yea I mean I knew it wasn't valuable or anything. I was more looking for info on what year something like this might have been from. If it was old at all. And I would imagine the stone is too big to be real, not to mention that the band isn't made of silver or gold.

Diamond testers and acid kits are cheap and easily available on E-bay. I'd get one and use it on the ring to be sure. You're bound to find more rings down the road so they're a good thing to have.

What would be better, the diamond tester?

It's best to have both but if I had to choose, I guess I'd get the diamond tester. If the stone is real, the setting is probably good metal too.

Is it marked?

No, not that I can see. It looks almost like the band had a chrome finish that mostly wore off. Hopefully the next ring I find will be nice :dontknow:
