Can anyone tell me what this is?

I have what appears to be an Indian artifact, but I am unsure what it is exactly. It looks like some sort of weapon, or tool. Any suggestions would be appreciated. If it helps, this was handed down to me by my father who found it in Georgia when he was a young boy. I have attached a couple of pictures.

yeah, that and unregistered (non members, lurkers) views are counted too.

Dont let it get you down or anything time2lead, there's plenty of artifacts to be found. Welcome to tnet, there a lots of friendly and helpful people here.

I think you've hit the nail on the head Molly. It's often hard to judge someones emotions from a font and feelings get hurt easily. I will admit that I get very frustrated with it myself from time to time. Forums and posting has kinda lost the thrill for me, but I'm a sucker for punishment and still do it when bored...lol.

I have noticed that many of the more knowledgeable collectors simply won't post anymore. Not just this board, but all over the place.

It's a PC thing. Better to say nothing than anything that may be taken out of context.

I would rather just say nothing, its not worth upsetting ppl. Been there done that !

Its ashame, I know this but, some ppl are far too sensitive for their own good.

I never used to think like this but, some situations have made me this way.

Also I have lost a few good friends who have got in battles over saying ppl's finds are geo's.

So my lips stay sealed..

First I would have to say as thirty7 said welcome to artifacts time2lead. Sorry did not see your post. I agree with Neanderthal that it is probably natural. Many times we come home with something that looks like something. With out any specific work marks by man its very hard to tell if he used it for anything. Does look like it should be some kinda axe with a bit ,,but who knows.. but without the grinding and pecking and flaking of man? We can only guess.
