I normally don't buy porcelain stuff, but the signature intrigued me. It didn't have any "made in" information on it, just this mark. Thanks in advance.

Off hand I would say that is the mold number for the piece, are there any other marking on it? What is the piece a vase or a plate or ???

Just a hand painted figurine. My initial thought was a number as well, but the "0" looks more like a crescent shape with an accent of some kind and the 8 is smaller than the rest. I though maybe some kind of japanese signature. This would be why I don't normally buy porcelain :) It was only a buck though.

definately not Japanese, doesn't look like chinese or korean either.
when I first saw it I thought middle eastern but now it just looks 2002 written kind of sloppy with liquid porcelian (slip)

After looking at it again, I agree. My eyesight is for sh*t, which is why I took a flyer on it.
