A while back there was a discussion on small oval plates with two holes in them that loooke sort of like the one I drew below. I think the general consensus was that they were saddle ovals. For the life of me, I can't find the thread and would appreciate it if someone could direct me to it. Thanks!

"Nuggetnoggin" just dug this piece, and I was looking to see if there was a match for it in that discussion. Almost looks like part of a hasp, perhaps to go on leather. I was intrigued by its tiny size and its beveled plate. Any thoughts?

I wonder what the gap between the holes are? These seem to be standard but this is the first one that is all brass made, normally the item has iron fixings

Now...I have dug some that had the beveled plate. Heck, they may be the same type of piece--but I don't recall right off ever seeing one of those things with a second pair of holes in it before now. What are the measurements?

It looks like something to hang a padlock on but I dont know being brass.
