can someone tell me what kind of pliers these are?

I found these pliers in the same creek that I found my mortar shell and US belt buckle in. I have no idea the age of them. they were deep in the center of the creek. I cleaned them up as best I could. the nearest road is 2 miles in either direction.

no... I have a hole puncher.... not wire strippers. I would guess hog ring pliers.... but, they are flat and straight on the inside like needle nose pliers. they look as of they were made to pinch and squeeze a spring of some sort. it looks as if it would slide in so it wouldn't fly out. I've never seen anything like them. I thought I would pick your brains this evening. lol. I appreciate every ones help!

it is hose clamp pliers for the old spring type of clamp that wrapped around the hose twice. the spring tension kept it tight

They do not appear to be complete; are the handles stamped steel or solid? They don't look similar to my hose clamp pliers.

they are stamped... not solid. I found them in a shallow creek. the same creek I found my mortar shell and US belt buckle in. I know they aren't civil war ..... but cant figure out how they got there? lol

Looks nothing like my hog ring piers. No adjustment for different size rings. Not heavy enough.
