I love the show, but can you imagine what they might be? Geez!!!

There's not much point speculating as this degree of care for , and interest in a patient
doesn't happen in real life and no insurance company would cover it.

I've heard of people fronting up at ER's with incurable diseases hoping for a miracle
after hearing about "House".

As a medical professional, I would say that if House was a real MD, he would have been in jail for a looooooong time.

You simply do not do much of what he does. No self respecting lab tech lets doctors near our labs. They break stuff, and make huge messes.

You just dated yourself there. We do not use that stuff anymore. Docs love to come to my bloodbank and make ridiculous demands that are outside of their scope of practice, and outside of the bounds of reality....Which is why lab techs often have a reputation in hospitals for being legalistic and sticking hard and fast to rules and regulations. We have to. Otherwise people try to run around doing whatever they think they can get away with.

This question is probably academic now once the bill is passed soon.
Finally the untouchables, the unemployed, the lower class and the
small self employed people in this class conscious country will have
access to basic medical care, something they were unable to get before.

Now they can get a bed in a hospital ward, not a private room
(reserved for the upper classes) , something that I've heard sneered at today
by the self rightous.

Yeah that's true because i've seen so many poor thugs left to die in the street after drug and gang related shootouts. Come on seriously? The fact is I've never seen anyone turned away from basic medical care and government programs do exist for those people already. But hey lets once again screw over the hard working so the lazy can get another free perk. If you want the life of a comrade were you can all drive the same gov. supplied cars, wear the same government supplied clothes, and have free food, shelter, and healthcare you are in the wrong country. As for me i'll settle for being lower middle class, working my ass off, and being able to buy what I want when I want with no one telling me what or how much I can buy. Your ideals my friend are not American in any way, shape, or form. It seems funny how some of you claim this is what America was intended to be yet the same men who made this country also made no mention or attempts to implement any of these policies 200 years ago, come to think of it beliefs like these did not even exist until just prior to WW1 in Russia. If working hard and buying my own healthcare makes me self rightous well than I guess I am but I feel it makes me American.

There's more to being an American than being the 5th generation that some
blue bloods seem to dwell on.
America was and still is being created and given new blood by migrants.
Moving away from the concepts of 200 years ago is called progress and those that
can't accept that will be left behind bitter,twisted and resentful.
