I got a garret black pointer. I was wondering if it is ok to paint it ? I would like to add some orange to it to make it easier to find. Because we all know that I would NEVER drop it lol

I just bought a role of hot pink duck tape. I only had to misplace it once while hunting a couple of cellar holes in the woods. It took me 45 minutes to find it. Now I just make a wide tape ring around the handle and it's highly visible. Live and learn.

pink fits you nicely loco

The Hotter the Better.

Why not simply use a lanyard clipped to a belt loop? Garrett pin pointers have a lanyard loop built into them already. If you have the original model you can get a metal lanyard ring that fits over the threads of the battery compartment.

get a rattle can of plastic primer spray that on first dry with hairdryer and then apply orange this will make the paint grip to the plastic and should wear a lot better without it paint would scratch off 8-)

You can get the spray on or dip type rubberize coating in different bright colors and coat the front tip area for high visability & also will protect the tip from abrasion wear. I got mine off of Amazon.

I use a PapaDoody cover on one of my black Garrett Pro-Pointers
And I've used Day-Glo, bright Red (and Reflective)-type tape, up near the battery cap/lid.
That should be easily be seen, if (temporarily) lost...,
but the lanyard idea seems to be the best idea yet.
Tape can be removed, but paint can't - and not sure if paint harms the performance....
