Cap Badge?

I found this old eagle device in a local junk store today. They occasionally get in really old things, so I was hoping this might be Civil War, but it's probably more likely from a more recent military school. It has attachments on the back like a hat or cap ornament, but I'm not really sure what it is or how old. Any thoughts? Thanks!

I have no real knowledge on this at all, but it has a pretty modern look to it. Nice piece though, and will look good in your collection.

Thanks, David............I agree, it looks pretty new. In fact, it appears unused. I wish I could nail it down to a specific time period, but no luck so far! Maybe someone will come to the rescue!
