1827 Capped Bust Dime! Bucket lister! This was my last target of a long slow day. Btw, shout out to Vino for the encouragement to check out some local parks! After a couple hours of trashy hunting my ears were pounding. I decided to move away from the trash out into the field for my last 30 min of searching. Once the nails cleared up I also noticed the ground mineralization dropped to zero, so I set the Deus TX power to 3 and ran the ground 4 points below the recommended number (ground conditions where I live rarely let me use this combo). On my second pass through the field I got a deep solid signal and dug a nice wide hole to make sure the shovel didn't get a piece. Flipped the plug and out popped a beautiful capped bust dime. I haven't dug very many silver coins in this kind of condition, never mind an early 1800s silver.
As for stats - this was my second capped bust (The first was a damaged 1835 half dime dug back in August) - this is my earliest American silver coin - this is my first capped bust dime. Also, this is my earliest dog license.
