Gentlemen; What would be the going rate for vehicle sized batteries?

Thank You

I got $5 bucks a piece today. Just 6 six months ago I was getting $2.50.

Thanks Guys!

Quite a variation in price across the states. A friend here in the northeast said he got $5 for a couple. The power of the internet is in use on this forum. Thanks again.

Where is a good place to sell auto batteries? Scrap yard or parts places? Thanks.

Where we go they give between about $2.50 per battery, although we haven't gone to cash in any scrap for awhile, so it could be more with the price of lead going up.

I get 6 bucks per standard core. Ie the typical car battery. Smaller SLA's get less, bigger batteries, ie group 31's 4D, 8D, or T105 get more than that.

The price will vary from place to place. Check recycling in your phone book and ask around. there might be dedicated links to battery recycling in there even.

Two years ago I only got $1 each here.

2.00 here in NJ

check around your scrap yards, and some battery places, ie batteries plus stores or auto zone etc etc...

The price of lead is going through the roof because Americans are too ignorant to realize that China is buying out this country one battery at a time, and any other item that can be re used.

For a standard car battery, you should see at least 2 to 3 bucks,... im getting 6 per core for a standard battery, less for smaller, more for bigger etc.

that explains alot. I am a trucker and we had a question on re-cert that dealt with batteries. they are considered hazardous. But I took a ld of used bats one time to Canada. now if you are getting $6 in RI it might be worth the $2 a mile to truck them there. of course you would need to fill up a trailer. But with all you bat experts here I bet it could be done. just a thought. ric

I have a load of batteries that I am taking in tommorow. I will post the current Ohio price then.
