Good God know, they are worth a great deal of money over here. The large one in the first picture would set you back £5K over here.

I fished for carp as a kid. Never ate one. They are fun to catch on a rod! My carp went into the veg garden for fertilizer. I never ate a gar fish either. Many carp have broken my line, with that last run they always make at the end of their run.

Dad and friends used to bowfish for carp in the irrigation ditches in Yakima WA - in the 50's they got 3 cents a pound from the fertilizer plant!

The ladies of the neighborhood also buried one under new roses and such.

Nice Carp!

I learned how to fish for carp with cornmeal in the late 70's from the Japanese that were fishing next to me. This was at the dam on Lake Accotink in Fairfax county, Va. Never caught one over 20 lbs though. Never ate one either.
