I had one of the best relic days reluc hunting yesterday that I have had in a long time. I researched and found a camp that has not been disturbed. I found this very ornate carved bullet that has the number 66 carved into it. After a little research, I found that the 66th Indiana was engaged in the battle that took place in my hometown. Just a few feet away, I found this other flattened bullet with carvings similar to the one with the number 66 carved into it, to which makes me to thing that they were carved by the same person. I found 8 bullets total.

Very cool! I hope to get to hunt somewhere that I can find civil war stuff. Slim pickins in West Texas
Flintman, your fellow Texans met the man that carved that bullet, along with his comrades of the 66th Indiana infantry regt. And soundly defeated them. All of the indianans in that regt. Were all either captured or killed. The men thart weren't killed were later paroled at a later date.

Guess he should have done more shooting and less carving

Those are some very nice finds & from yr hometown (that makes them almost priceless IMO & you know what troops were in the area / battle ).

They are Def, deserving of a Nice display with some background info for those who are interested in such 'Special" Items .

Great Job
