For one reason or another I have been absent from T-net but I plan to remedy that today and going forward. To be honest the biggest reason I've been away is that the finds just aren't what they used to be. I also hope to remedy that very soon. Today I just secured permission to a massive site that has amazing potential. Will be hitting it hard tomorrow so will know more then. Today I hunted a newer permission and got a semi modern US general service button as well as the decorative back to a silver pocket watch. Haven't quite deciphered the etching but it is quite intriguing. Also included some of the dribs and drabs from the summer. Nothing spectacular but I am still swinging!

Pretty sure it's just a sporting button...mid to late 1800s. Hunting scenes were especially popular for this type of button.

Well, today was a disaster. We had our permission rescinded before we even got our boots on the ground. It's a long story but it may just be a temporary set back and we may get onto this site later this week...fingers crossed. Spent the rest of the day knocking on doors and scrambling for something new. We did get a couple new permissions but they didn't pan out.

If everything goes our way we'll have our new permission back and on the ground some time next week.

Nice looking glass and relics, liking the barrel tap just laying there to be picked up. Kind of says that a person is the first one to a site. Good luck on getting the permission on track again, sometimes its all got to do with kin folks and one that has dreams & greed.

That has happened, one says no problem, and one comes up and says WTF are you doing on my property. It makes for some interesting conversation, basically I thank the first person and wish them luck. It's a bummer when its old and one knows it would be a good site.
