Celtic ring money?

Hello

Look what i found. Well,i found it on my favorite hunting spot some time ago but i didnt take attention on it. When i found my first celtic silver and try to ID it, i coincidentaly found some samples of ring money. Than i remember that some time ago i found similar ring. I was hoping that i didnt throw it away...and find it :) and now its time to take a close look. I scratch it a bit (i cant resist ;D). Well,the picture are not perfect (because of cloudy weather) but i can see a gold-like yellow color. It measures 3.3 cm and its pretty heavy! Could it be? Any help is welcome.

No, it couldn't be, Gold that is. Looks like iron, does it stick to a magnet? It could be a bronze alloy.

It wont stick on magnet, so its not iron. It has a nice yellow colour. If two metals are mixed (gold-copper, gold-silver or any metal with gold) what will the metal look like? Will be a patina created over time?
Well,if its not celtic ring money i have no idea what could it be. When i first find it i was thinking its a part of a chain...

10k Gold and purer comes out of the ground almost like it did when it went in, other than a little black tarnish. Copper devolopes a green patina over time. The patina on your ring looks to be iron but you said it won't stick to a magnet so in my opinion I would lean towards bronze.

This is how gold that has been trapped in the ground for 70 or so looks when it comes out of the ground. That's two different rings, the bottom ring is a 1964 class ring.

Nice ring you got there. Yes, i know about gold, you can put it in ground for 2000yrs and its almost the same.

I have take i close look now at my ring and some others on E-bay. I have a feeling i have a very old thing in my hand, but how to be sure? It looks old to me and was finded on the site where Celts was long time ago...

Maybe its brass,yes. What do you mean, shoud i clean all the patina or leave it this way?
I like it anyway,it just has to be ancient or medieval ;D

They look extreamly similar... where did you find it? Do you live someplace where Celtic Ring Money from the 5th through the 1st century BC could be found?

Yes, i live near area,where Celts settlement was (4th-4th century).
