CELTIC SILVER UNIT 45-10BC

Hello all..

yesterday got my second Celtic coin ever this time a Silver Fractional Unit. Boar/Horse type (disjointed) this is from the same time period as the Celtic Gold coin I found last month over two thousand years in the ground the day turned up some outher nice finds from different periods of British History anyway have a look
at the pictures, the Celtic coins not in the best condition but I can't grumble after all it's been rolling around in the ground for a long time SS.

Fragment of Anglo Saxon Cruciform Brooch (400AD-600AD)

Medieval Hammered Coins (Edward1 penny 1272-1307, Henry111 cut half penny 1247-72)

Medieval Dogs Head Dagger Pomell.

Bronze Key (possibly Roman)

Just great finds, its nice to find so many 'keepers' in a search. I see that Cru is helping much with the determination!,
that is great also...!

I will try and get better pictures when I have the time the new camera is taking a bit of getting use to :P

Please post pictures of both sides. as you said its the same date range as the other ca 45-10BC.
Is it about 15mm?
The closest I could find in Van Arsdell is VA877-1. However, the horse is a little different, so it would be nice to see the boar? Interestingly yours doesn't look like it has a pellet below the horses tail, thought to be a privy mark denoting date or issue.

Yes...it is about 15mm, thought it was a hammered when I found it will try to get you better pic tonight, it does look a little different to the one in spinks

I could see this side already, can you take a picture of the otherside? Cheers

i just phoned my local farmer and it turns out he has more land than i thought!

the two fields i can do are grass but have been ploughed in recent years and are right next to the village. there have been two saxon coins recorded from one of these fields so who knows

can't see it though
