Hello all! I am currently staying in the University area of Charlotte and was pondering the possibility of panning some of the dirt on my property. Behind my house there is a decent sized hill covered in woods with a few small temporary creek beds (about 2-3 feet wide). These creeks only flow once or twice a month after larger storms. If I dig out some of the holes or sides of these creeks would I be likely to even find a flake or two? I am very new to panning and don't know what type of soil to dig in or how deep to dig. Any help would be awesome! I would also be interested in any parks in the area that allow public panning and are likely to contain any gold.
