This is a series you see on FreeVee TV assuming you have Roku device etc.
It's fairly simple spun with some comedy mixed in. 3 seasons. Covers
some of the issues you run into with permissions in UK and other
common MD'ing experiences, plus life. I didn't like the way these
guys were portrayed as dim wits or clueless but I'm sure they exist
in the hobby.
If you watch and can't figure out what Toby Jones (the hobbit)
finds - let me know and I'll post here after people have a chance
to watch. I binge watched the whole thing in about 3-4 evenings.
But then I'm quite about my leisure and retired. Enjoy! HH!
Detectorists
Mackenzie Crook (Andy) in this series is a real detectorist. He wrote and directed all episodes.
The surname of Toby Jones' character Lance is Stater. A stater is a type of ancient Greek gold or silver coin which could conceivably be uncovered by a detectorist.
Detectorists theme song - by Johnny Flynn wrote for series, clever lyrics.
Will you search through the lonely earth for me
Climb through the brier and bramble
I'll be your treasure
I felt the touch of the kings and the breath of the wind
I knew the call of all the song birds
They sang all the wrong words
I'm waiting for you
I'm waiting for you
Will you swim through the briny sea for me
Roll along the ocean's floor
I'll be your treasure
I'm with the ghost of the men who can never sing again
There's a place, follow me
Where a love lost at sea
Is waiting for you
Is waiting for you
Would you drift o'er the rolling fields for me
Hoard me in the highest bough?
I'll be your treasure
But in history's rhyme, there's a place and a time
And a truth to the gold that the fools cannot hold
I'm waiting for you
I'm waiting for you

One of my treasures that was waiting for me. Oldest silver and oldest coin with readable date. Found Nov. 2004 in crop field.
