You cant see it to well but beside his nose is a small U.S. on the back of the gun he is holding .
Originally, the gun barrel was smashed in I was able to somewhat straighten the barrel out .

Well that is a BANNER find IMHO. Its not ordinary, its a beautiful work of art. Unique thats for sure. That has to be worth a grand of anyones money, If its old and you can find out what it represents, the history, geeze I reckon Id pay a grand. If the story comes out, it could be worth thousands. Maybe its from someone well known and carved after the battle of whatever who knows! What do you think his head dress is? its not a cap or a helmet, kinda looks like a ole turkish turban. I can see a pack and the rifle, someone will know what that is.

Can you tell me any more about it? any guesses?

Wow! Awesome!

What a cool thing. Took some time to do.

That is a cool find. I am just asking this not that I discount what it is, but is there a chance it is a partially melted toy lead soldier? I only ask because there looks to be some bubles/melted at the end, can you post a picture of the base? If it is a bullet, I have to say that is the coolest carved one I have ever seen and agree truly is a work of art! Too Cool!

it just might be a melted toy soldier ,what a let down :( sorry to get everyone excited including myself .But thanks for all the comments !!

Hey man, it is still cool, and some of those guys have serious age to them. I dug a dragoon from a SC plantation years back, and it is very cool. (horse and rider)

Either way it's a cool find.

Either way a very cool find..............HH

It looks so small and not what it is at first glance-a reminder to people like me to really study their finds. I probably would have discounted it as a blob of ? and tossed it. Good find!
