Another interesting (yet sad) item about this lot is that the seller is FastCashGoldCenter. They themselves are probably unaware of keydates and the like. Some poor seller probably was paid $5/each. The ripoff artists then in turn flipped them for what they see as some ridiculous final bid. They are probably still scratching their heads not knowing why they sold for what they did.

This is the problem with the written word. There is no inflection or dramatic pauses. I'm sure no ill will was meant by any of the responders, yet the initial poster feels as if the responeses were rude.

Let's all relax and enjoy our hobby :icon_sunny:

[mod] Very well said! And so true. Thanks for reminding folks.

My wife, bless her, just bought me my second 2012 Redbook for our anniversary. She bought me the first 2012 last Christmas, oh well. :D

You should give her something to remind her of that :laughing7:

Bid is $115 for 1932-D in G. By greysheet. And it's dealer prices. So I wouldnt be surprised if the 32-D by itself would have sold for $142.

Slightly off topic, but is the dealer's version of the Redbook worth the extra price for the more die varieties? I mean, I'm really not a cherrypicker myself, but just as a standard reference to know if there is a doubled die out there? Because it seems like the standard edition of the Redbook just seems slightly incomplete (though, its more complete than most British hammered references!). If so I might pick up the 2012 edition on sale when the 2013 gets on sale.

The dealer's version of the Redbook is the Bluebook. Same content except for values quoted. I equate the Redbook = Retail. Bluebook is closer to what a dealer will pay for my coins. Greysheet is the definitive on bid/ask prices. Few die varieties are listed. Most common/collectible are, but we all know there are way more that are equally valuable/collectible. Cherrypicker's guide is what you should look at for a more (not entirely) complete view of die varieties.
