Fiat currency. Give a bunch of politicians a printing press & watch the fun begin!

Better they had opened everything up just adding reasonable restrictions for capacity and mask wearing than to order shutdowns with woefully inadequate recompense to those most affected. If history accurately records the 2020 pandemic they will conclude the state government responses were what caused the most damage.

Something is better than nothing-:dontknow:
Query: Is this a one time payment-or a monthly?

It's a one-time payment. American's also received a larger check some time
back.

I'm honestly torn about it. On one hand American's desperately need the financial
help, but as a nation it only puts us deeper in debt.

Free money from the government is nothing less then socialism. I refuse to take it or cash it. Who's with me?.... Anyone?

My wife on the other hand doesn't think or believe like I do. Thank goodness.

It's not free money, it's our money to begin with from our taxes, I paid $4000 just in taxes on my social security alone last year.

A one-time payment with more to come. Can’t stop now!

That means you are a constructive part of society, awesome and congratulations!

I have to disagree. You're premise is correct but it is borrowed or printed money. Our tax money could never cover it. You are 100% correct that it is not free. There will come a time when the debt is called in. Then it will get interesting. No business could operate for even a short time using our country's financial model. No share holder would invest or put up with it.

It’s all going to collapse. Bitcoins went from 13k to 32k in a month and has a long way to go.

Give it 20 more years when AI and robotics are running everything then we will get a nice monthly check every month.

Gee CERB up here switched over to the EI side of things to dole it out. Folks get $2000 a month since last March. Best paid holiday for 100,000's that have been having a grand old time on it.
Seniors got a one time payment of $150.00 total, and they're still dropping like flies in the homes.
