Cherokee Stone Artifacts

Items found with some arrow heads on low water lake bed in East TN. Seem to be sandstone. Question: Are these heads to small to have been used? could they have been child's play/practice of the period? Thanks for looking and HH

Looks like a good place to dig. I bet there are some old bottles in there. Keep us posted on what you find there. Jonathon

JARMAN~ The cellar hole is actually on the top of a hill in the woods. It was my great, great grandparents home, and dates probably mid 1800's. My dad was actually born there, so it has a sentimental attaachment for me. There was some cw activity in the area (General Burnsides troops marched through on their way to take Knoxville) and the nearby town (no longer exists) was a railroad town that shows alot of promise also.
I'm planning to go this Saturday as the weather is going to be nice.

Yeah it would be safer but not as much fun. I'm just glad we have member who participate in the forum that can joke around and nobody seems to be offended. Makes the place more interesting than the other forums. More like conversations between friends. It is a good use of bandwidth.

DANGLANGLEY- That's awesome! I'm just north of the fairgrounds! Been doing a LOT of research on this county's history and have found some great spots. Will have to get together and compare notes. Have you dug Gobey? Nemo actually would be a great place too!
