Chillin' with Dwight D.

I was testing a brand new set of headphones out at one of my old stomping grounds. My fingers turned numb about 5 minutes into
the hunt. After about an hour playing with the new toy, I finally had to call it quits.

On the way back to the car, I heard a beep and this fellow popped out.

I know he's not silver, but I've been smiling all night! ;)

Cheers! and stay warm.

Nice find Ridley, I was fortunate to get to see Dwight D Eisenhour in person at a funeral in Arlington National cemetary in the 1960's................fossis

Re: Chillin' with Dwight D.

It's kind of funny because I've never found a dollar coin that big and it was dark. Plus my hands were frozen so I could't feel
the rim or any detail.
Then on top of it I'm not used to the sound the headphones make.
When I got to the car I slipped it out of my glove and smiled.

It's surprising just how little it takes sometimes to make a person happy.

And you have every reason to be happy, its not too common to find a dollar coin, they were too big to lose for long! Here's hoping your next one is a Morgan ;D

You dont find many of those, there use was limited and most were returned to the banks, I have found one in 18 years, more rare than finding silver I think,
Great job and nice find

That is a cool find. My son found one last summer at my mom's cottage. Funny cause it was very worn.

Nice find Ridley!

I think the Eagle landing on the moon is one of the most beautiful reverse engravings of all U.S. coinage.

Those Ikes sure get attention if you continuously spin them on a bartop.
They make quite a racket!

Re: Chillin' with Dwight D.

Nice find, great to see someone is out finding something. In the summer posts are a plenty with coins and wonderful jewlery but in the winter its a thrill to see some fresh dug scrap iron and a rare treat when the stray coin shows up. I couldnt believe the difference when I switched headphones from a cheap walkman pair to a set of nice Sony's. I didnt really expect much of a change, boy was I suprised. All the tones were different along with a lot of new little bitty sounds that I would never have heard with the cheapies,HH...Shoot
