Chinese coin?

Found this coin, and it is pretty toasted.

I am soaking it now, but does anyone recognize this?

I found something like that once, but it was really light weight. It turned out to be an aluminum Great Depression era sales tax token, which was fine by me. But, that does look like a coin. Super cool!

Chinese cash coin, If I could read the four characters on one side, and the two on the other I could tell you the date range and mint. Probably 1700's to 1800's though.

Maybe Emperor Jen Tsung, 1796-1820, I edited the photo to try and read the characters. Can you read the characters? If so, please post photos of them.

This is after soaking in olive oil for a bit. If I clean it, it will not end well.

After you've soaked it (in olive oil?), rinsed it off, tooth-picked-it some to give definition,
shine the high surfaces with clean thumb, should shine a very little bit,
put flashlight at low angle - whatever to see what you have AND use this website

Chinese Coins

they have PICTURES, examples of each emperor's coinage, a LOT of info
on each dynasty's coinage.
The trick will be to get the coin right-side-up, so you can compare, side-by-side,
your coin to the right time period.
You'll, at best, get a Date Range, rather than a Specific Year....

Old post but I though I would give it a try. I would guess that coin is a 乾隆通宝 qianlong tongbao. If the coin is facing the right way, looking close to the right side of the coin I can see what looks to be the 用 yong in the character 通 tong. Looking at the bottom of the coin I can see what looks like the yi 阝 radical from the 隆 character.
