Chrstmas Coin Sorter Ideas

So I have about $150 for Christmas and would like to make/buy my own sorter. I would like to have any guides or tips on the right discriminator and set ups. I really excited to start working on this, but just need to know where to start. I would like it to be able to sort out copper cents and silver coins, if possible.
